House Churches
Why House Churches?
The house church is the primary, foundational and focal ministry of The Bridge Network. We value the house church structure for several reasons. First, we recognize that this structure for church is the one that is most prevalent and clearly demonstrated in the New Testament. Secondly, we believe this structure best fosters the intimacy and community that are taught by the “one another” verses throughout the New Testament. This is important because we believe that ministry within the context of intimate relationships is God’s design and is most effective. Thirdly, we believe this structure most naturally provides the avenue by which people can use their God given giftedness and abilities to build up the body and actively participate in ministry one to another. We highly value the interdependency of every individual member with their varied gifts.
What do we do in a house church?
We worship together.
We pray for our world, community and each other.
We share our thoughts, joys, struggles, victories, doubts, etc.
We read and discuss the Bible.
We listen to teaching from the Bible.
We develop friendships.
At The Bridge Network, we desire to see house churches (simple churches) grow and multiply throughout NYC and around the world.
