Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you part of a denomination?
A: We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations. We are an independent church that seeks to define itself as a Christian community and not by the baggage that is carried by denominational titles.

Q: Is there a dress code?
A: No! There is absolutely no dress code. We believe the focus of Christ was on one’s heart and not on their outer appearance.

Q: Do I need to bring a Bible?
A: No, you do not need to bring a Bible. Most house churches will provide members with Bibles or a sheet of paper with the Bible text printed on it. However, if you have a Bible and feel comfortable using it, you are welcome to bring it.

Q: Do I need to be a Christian to attend?
A: No, you do not need to be a Christian to attend. We are completely comfortable with people coming to explore, learn, or simply observe Christianity. You will not be put on the spot, embarrassed, or asked to do anything in the meeting.

Q: Will I feel out of place if I don’t know the Bible?
A: No, you will not feel out of place if you don’t know the Bible. The people who attend are at all different levels of understanding and familiarity with the Bible and we consider ourselves learners. You will not be put on the spot, embarrassed, or asked to do anything in the meeting.

Q: What is the worship like?
A: Most of our people enjoy a contemporary worship style, however, each house church is unique and may do worship differently. Please see our page on worship.

Q: Why the focus on house churches?
A: Please see our page on house churches.

Q: What is the average age of the people who attend the church?
A: We welcome people of all ages and we think you will feel comfortable and fit in. The majority of the people in our church are between 25 and 50 years of age.

Q: What about children?
A: Families with children are welcome at our houses churches. House churches that already have children attending will be better prepared with activities that are both interesting and spiritually helpful for your child. Feel free to contact us for more information about which house churches plan activities for children.

Q: What do you believe?
A: Please see our page on what we believe.
